Presented at Keyes Art Night in collaboration with Open Window and Johannesburg In Your Pocket, The Makers Table turns its attention to Johannesburg and the people who call it home.

As Rosebank marks its 130th year, this hands-on workshop invites participants to reflect on their relationship with the city by creating a postcard addressed to their past, present or future selves.

Using typography, participants will create a 13-word visual poem. The first three words capture what Johannesburg means to them now, while the remaining ten imagine a possible future for themselves, the city and the people who live here.

The resulting postcards become small personal records of Johannesburg at this moment, bringing together memory, typography and imagination.
