Aspire Art will be exhibiting the Portrait Award 2025 as part of Keyes Art Night. The Rust-en-Vrede Gallery + Clay Museum Portrait Award, established in 2013, is a biennial event and a major feature on South Africa’s art calendar.
From 635 entries submitted nationwide, 100 works were selected for the exhibition. The Top 40 were included in a travelling showcase presented in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, and Bloemfontein. The top three prizes were awarded to Malik Mani (Overall Winner, Northern Cape) for Mask, the first drawing to win the award; Ashley Ogilvy (Second, Western Cape); and Joseph Dolby (Third, Western Cape).
The exhibition highlights the range and talent of contemporary South African portraiture, showcasing technical skill, creativity, and diversity of artistic expression.
