Until Love Makes Sense: A Solo Exhibition by Stephen Tebogo Langa
What if love only reveals itself when we agree to look again?
Until Love Makes Sense presents a new body of work by Stephen Tebogo Langa, in which painting becomes both question and method. Each canvas operates as a frozen frame — mid-gesture, mid-thought — drawn from narratives that may be singular or multiple, continuous or fragmented. The sequence is deliberately withheld. In Langa’s world, love is speculative: something we author while simultaneously living inside of it. Mutable, open to revision.
Working across soft pastels and oil, Langa folds immediacy into density and softness into texture. The medium is not incidental — it becomes a quiet collaborator, reinforcing the exhibition’s central proposition: that love, like painting, is a practice of return.
