To kick off my 24 hours in Johannesburg blog series, we’ll be stopping for dinner at Marble, one of JHB’s most hotly tipped restaurants. It is impossible to ignore the digital buzz surrounding star chef David Higgs and his latest culinary venture, which is located on a trendy rooftop in the budding food hub of Rosebank.

Why the fuss? Marble celebrates the South African timeworn ritual of cooking on open wood fires with an imported grill from Michigan serving as the focal point to the restaurant.
